Rainy day activities

Working on taxes, I mean... that state I.O.U.

Teaching Jenna to wash dishes
This picture actually looks quite gross and I wasn't sure what this going to turn into but it ended up being really good! I just threw in some chicken, onions, enchilada sauce and a little taco seasoning then rolled the chicken in some corn tortillas, poured the saucy stuff on top and added some cheese. A little time in the oven to melt the cheese and there ya have it. Even Jenna ate some which says A LOT. Jenna's latest thing is calling everything beautiful, a word she learned from Jake's aunt Kim. It really builds a person up when someone says you're boo-ful all the time, even when your hair is wet and you've got no make-up on!

In the red....

On the way home from a friend's house on a Saturday night, 9:30 pm:

Me: Jenna, when we get home we're going to take a quick bath for church tomorrow and then it's straight to bed.

Jenna: Yes Mom.

Score one for the mama!

Today, on the way to a friend's house, navigation (telling me the wrong directions) in one hand and cell phone in the other, trying to get correct directions:

Jenna: Mommy! Pease! Goe fish cackahs!!

Me (in a frazzled voice): Jenna! I can not reach the crackers right now.

Jenna: Saw-ee, Mommy. Mommy? Saw-ee.

Minus 100 for the lame-o mama.

This new header is my first attempt at something in photoshop (well, besides that one class I took that one time during that one year of college....) Any suggestions or hints? I'm pretty clueless....

American Idol: Season 25

Jenna's medley:

Bleeding Love, I am a Child of God mixed in with a little I Love to See the Temple and finally Happy Birthday. (The video is pretty long so only grandparents aunts and uncles may be interested!)

*I know I'm the mom, but MAN she's cute.

If at first you don't succeed....

Jake's second attempt at experimenting in the kitchen....

Me: Green beans in a frying pan?

Jake: Yeah! To give them a little crunch.

Five minutes later......

Me: How'd those green beans work out for ya?

Jake: They're gross.

A Wicked Night

Remember the "best days of my life" list? I've got another one. Last week, Jake and I got to see Wicked at the Orpheum Theater in San Francisco, thanks to his brother, Tim, who got us a way sweet deal on the tickets. We had awesome seats in the balcony right smack in the middle. This was my second time seeing the musical and I still teared up! The music is just so good. Everyone needs to experience Wicked at least once. When I was first introduced to this Wicked thing, I was skeptical and kind of secretly rolled my eyes (my same reaction to Twilight and Harry Potter). But I have to admit that I have been changed for good.
A special thanks to Jake's Aunt Kim who watched Jenna for us. She went all out to make sure Jenna had a special evening, too. I know Jenna had a ton of fun because a few mornings later when I asked her if she had any dreams she said "Kim's house!"
