At this point in the night, my camera battery was running out of juice so I have no pictures of the best fireworks show ever. We were tricked a few times and thought the show was over but then they'd launch another round and everyone shouted a collective "Ohhhhhh!" It was awesome. Jenna's reaction? "That was holy cow, Mom."

Fourth of July Festivities
The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays but this year was even better because my mom and dad were here! PAR-TAY! We started our celebration on the 2nd with a concert in downtown Cleveland. With the threat of rain and some strong winds, we doubted there would be any fireworks but were pleasantly surprised when the show started!
Enjoying the music
My two cuties.
We spent Friday bowling but I won't blog about Jake's score. Let's just say it's not as good as the scores he's been getting at school (Mr. 106%... is that even allowed?!) But he still looked good doing it!
Our bishop invited us to breakfast on the morning of the fourth and after our stuffing ourselves with blueberry muffins, sausage, french toast and fresh fruit, we enjoyed the parade which went right in front of his house. There was a ton of candy tossed out to the crowd but even with lots of encouragement, Jenna was confused and just didn't get into it.
Or maybe she was just concerned about these guys....
I was also slightly afraid of the rubber chicken they threw into the air and pretended shoot. Never seen anything like that in a 4th of July parade. But we did get a little taste of home with Halson Landscaping's version of a cable car.
Later that evening, we met up with everyone at the park and enjoyed ice cream cones with S'mores flavored ice cream (quite possibly my new fav).

All tuckered out.
